• Kent – Druids Glen - 29925 207th Ave SE, Kent, WA 98042, (253)638-1200, public. This course's layout was built on hilly terrain in the Cascade Mountain foothills. It is surrounded by Douglas firs, and on a clear day, no course has a better view of snow-capped Mount Rainier.
• Kent – Riverbend Golf Complex - 2020 W Meeker Ave, Kent, WA 98032, (253)854-3673, public. This facility has an eighteen hole course with newly planted trees that leave the fairways wide open. The terrain is flat and easy to walk, and there are water hazards that come into play on seven holes. There is also a flat, nine hole par 3 course that is excellent for seniors who enjoy walking.
• Maple Valley – Elk Run - 22500 SE 275th Pl, Maple Valley, WA 98038, (425)432-8800, public. This beautiful course has scenic views of two lakes, and Mt. Rainier also provides a spectacular view from hole #7. The greens are well maintained and fast, and the fairways are narrow. There are long, vertical drops from some tee boxes and uphill shots from others.
• Maple Valley – Lake Wilderness - 25400 Witte Rd SE, Maple Valley, WA 98038, (425)432-9405, public. This hilly course is best known for its narrow fairways and a reputation for playing fair. The signature hole is #17, a 286-yard, par 4, because of its fantastic beauty and scenic vistas. Water hazards come into play on several holes.
• Newcastle – Golf Club - 15500 Six Penny Ln, Newcastle, WA 98059, (425)793-4653, public. This links-style course is situated on a hillside and features plenty of elevation change. The rolling, narrow fairways and well-undulating, table-top greens make for very challenging play. This club also offers an eighteen hole putting course and plans to open another eighteen hole championship course, a nine hole executive course, a full training facility, and a heated and lighted driving range.
• Renton – Fairwood Golf & Country Club - 17070 140th Ave SE, Renton, WA 98058, (425)226-7890, private. This unique course has a variety of fairways ranging from narrow to average width. The greens are well maintained and large. The front nine is fairly flat and the back nine has rolling terrain.
• Renton – Maplewood Golf Course - 4050 Maple Valley Hwy, Renton, WA 98058, (425)430-6800, public. This club added a driving range, restaurant and changed the dimensions of its course in 1996. The well-manicured greens are fast. The front nine is hilly, and the back nine is flat. Water hazards come into play on seven holes.
• Seatac – Tyee Valley Golf Club - 2401 S 192nd St, Seatac, WA 98188, (206)878-3540, public. This course has a flat front nine and a hilly back nine. There is water that comes into play on several holes.
• Tukwila – Foster Golf Links (pictured above) - 13500 Interurban Ave S, Tukwila, WA 98168, (206)242-4221, public. his course has the Duwamish River flowing throughout its design and it comes into play on six holes. The fairways are narrow, and the terrain is flat and easy to walk.
